Well this was seriously one fantastic whirlwind of a wedding! When I first spoke to Trish, she had so many ideas and was so animated about her special day it was impossible not to get caught up in the excitement.
The wedding ceremony
This Zambian-British wedding was like nothing I had been involved in before and I absolutely loved it! The groom and the rest of the bridal party dancing down the aisle with so much enthusiasm was a highlight. It was so much fun to watch, everyone loved it. The wedding ceremony was packed full of prayer and emotion, soulful singing and private giggles between Trish and George. It was lovely to see the happiness they share together.
The wedding reception
The wedding day continued at Woodlands Hotel. I found that a main feature of an African wedding is the dancing, there was so much dancing and it was brilliant! The bridal party entrance to the wedding breakfast was particularly impressive. There was lots of cheering, singing along, and other guests getting involved. It really set the tone for the rest of the evening.
The part of the day that I was most looking forward to was later in the evening. Trish and George had planned a surprise dance based on this scene from the film ‘Coming to America’. It was executed perfectly, Trish looked incredible in her dress, and I was so pleased with the photos that I got of their dance. I massively enjoyed getting involved on the dance floor, I was right in the middle getting my photos while avoiding the flailing arms and trying not to get trampled! It was so much fun.
This wedding was something a little different for me, and I really enjoyed it. Take a look through the photos and you’ll see what a fabulous day it was!
Thanks so much to Stevie Jay Photography who was my second shooter on the day.
