Riz and Morgan’s beautiful winter wedding started at Islington Town Hall. As their wedding ceremony was at 3pm at the beginning of December, we agreed that I would meet them before the wedding for their couple photos so that we wouldn’t be rushing to beat the sun setting later on. We went for a wander on the streets of Islington in the gorgeous winter sunshine to get some lovely couple portraits before the ceremony. We also managed to fit in a few group photos too. With winter weddings it is always a good idea to be organised and get these important photos done early on in the day, so we’re not stressing about missing out on them later. My whole ethos is about keeping wedding days as calm and relaxed as possible so I do like to have this planned out in advance.
The wedding ceremony took place in Islington Town Hall’s Council Chamber, a beautiful room in a truly stunning old London building. This town hall has so much character! As it was the last ceremony of the day we had plenty of time to do the confetti and also get a big group photo outside after the ceremony before we all jumped onto a vintage red bus to head over to The Depot.
We arrived at The Depot just as the sun had set. It looked amazing with the festoon lights outside so we took a couple of minutes to get a few more portraits before heading inside to a big cheer from the guests. Riz and Morgan had organised for there to be some awesome 90s video games on the top mezzanine level of the pub. This was a great idea for entertainment during the drinks reception before everyone sat down for the wedding breakfast and speeches. There was such a warm and festive atmosphere with the Christmas trees, fairy lights and candles lining the trestle tables. I do love a winter wedding!
