I’ve recently started offering family photography shoots as well as weddings and branding photography. It’s still fairly new so when my old friend Alistair got in touch to ask about family photography in Esher, I was so pleased to have another family shoot booked in!
The way I shoot families is very similar to how I shoot weddings. Very natural, documentary style. At a couple of points throughout the shoot I will ask you all to look at me, just so we get one or two shots with you all looking to the camera. However about 95% of the photos you receive will be documentary style, catching little moments throughout the shoot.
Family photography in Esher
We decided to meet at Esher Commons for the shoot. I hadn’t been there before, but it’s a perfect location for family photography in Esher! There are lots of trees so you have a good amount of shade on a sunny day. There are lots of places for the kids to play, lots of trees to hide behind and even a child-sized stick hut that a previous visitor had created.
I was also pleased that Alistair and Harriet had brought their little dog Ted along with them. Any photography shoots involving dogs are a-ok in my book.
I’m Nikki van der Molen and I’m a creative family photographer based in Redhill in Surrey. I’m available for family photography in Esher as well as shoots throughout Surrey and London.
