[W]hat a beautiful Surrey wedding venue Millbridge Court is! It’s plonked right in the middle of the countryside in Farnham and has been cleverly designed to meet all your needs on your wedding day. From the spectacular ceremony room which is just bathed in natural light, to the incredible “getting-ready room” with enough mirrors for the entire bridal party and their families! The mirrors even have lightbulbs around them to make you feel like a Hollywood starlet (and that is EXACTLY how you should be feeling on your wedding morning. Like Marilyn Monroe.). They also use superstar caterers Kalm Kitchen who really take their service and presentation seriously. They will bring your canapés out in vintage-style birdcages! I’ve never seen such beautifully presented food. This really is a venue to make you feel rather special.
The wedding morning
Jess was getting ready with her bridesmaids, her mum and Scott’s mum at Millbridge Court on the morning of the wedding. What a fun atmosphere it was! With all of the girls in their matching pink dressing gowns, doing each other’s makeup in front of those fantastic mirrors, listening to music and laughing together; it was certainly a relaxed and organised morning. Jess had arranged for Scott’s friend to pick him up in the morning in his taxi as a lovely surprise for him, so I was there to capture the black cab arriving outside the venue.
I need to talk about Jess’s dress. It was STUNNING!! It’s by Ronald Joyce and had such delicate embroidery across the chest and the arms and beautiful tiny buttons down the back. The buttons were so tiny she needed several of the bridesmaids and her Dad to help in doing them up. She really did look wonderful in it.
The wedding ceremony
The ceremony was emotional, sweet and lovely. Before Jess walked down the aisle I could tell that Scott was quite nervous, but as soon as their eyes met when she joined him at the front he relaxed and looked so happy. I kept catching them looking at each other and smiling, and there was lots of laughter during the ceremony too. This was helped by the registrar, who when I asked ahead of the ceremony if it was ok for me to stand behind him, he replied; “Just make sure you don’t get my bald spot in the photos”. He was great fun.
Snowy winter wedding
Throughout the day it had been snowing on and off and I was really keen to get a photo of the snow so that Jess and Scott would always remember it snowing on their wedding day. After the wedding breakfast and once the sun had gone down I noticed it had started snowing again and decided to go for it. I quickly set up a flash outside and dragged Jess and Scott out for a few quick (and quite chilly) portraits. I’m so glad I did!
This was such a fun occasion, and I do just have to mention the dessert. It was an amazing triple layered chocolate pavlova which involved one person from each table donning a lovely apron and chefs hat and distributing the dessert to the people at their table. I got to try some, it was as immense as it looks!
Surrey wedding photography
I still have a few dates available for weddings in 2017 so if you’re planning a wedding in Surrey, London or any of the surrounding areas then please get in touch. I’m also now taking bookings for 2018. Exciting!
