Cute and edgy engagement shoot in Shoreditch
Naz and Mike’s super cute London engagement shoot
I hadn’t met Naz and Mike properly in person before we met up in Shoreditch a couple of weeks ago for their London engagement shoot. I was really excited about it because I just love taking photos in London, and I was so happy when I met these guys for the first time and discovered how awesome they are. They picked Shoreditch because they used to live really close by, near Columbia Road (famous for it’s flower market!), which made the location really personal for them and we were able to include photos of them outside the building where they used to live and also near to where Naz’s family used to live as well. I loved this because it was like getting a little tour through Naz and Mike’s history together. I feel like I know them pretty well now and really can’t wait for their wedding in August!
They are getting married at Pembroke Lodge which is a beautiful venue in the middle of Richmond Park. I’ve actually shot a wedding there before, Cigdem and Ben’s lovely wedding, so I’m very much looking forward to going back.
London engagement shoot
I do love a London photo shoot. It’s something about the urban backdrop, the graffiti and all the brick buildings and architecture that makes me feel so creative. I also really love exploring new places so this engagement shoot in Shoreditch was so much fun for me.
We started at Old Street station and worked our way through the streets of Shoreditch, looking out for fun graffiti as we went. We walked down Brick Lane and got a few shots with the Truman brewery chimney in the background which Naz and Mike had wanted. We also headed over to Columbia Road which had been their old stomping ground when they lived there, and then ended up on a bus to Victoria Park for a quick wander around and some lovely photos there.
I think it is important to make your engagement shoot personal to you, like this location was important to Naz and Mike. It means that the photos will really mean something to you, rather than just being a practice for your wedding day.
